The major fundraising activity for the Women of St. Peters is our
annual Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon. The Crafty Ladies of St. Peters
meet on Thursdays to make handcrafted items to be sold at the annual
Christmas Bazaar. On occasion, a sub-group (The Crafty Ladies of the
Evening) meets on Thursday evenings so that women who work outside the
home can contribute to this effort and join in the fun and fellowship
of this group.
Gearing Up for the Christmas Bazaar: During the summer, women will be working at the Thrift Shop on Thursdays (mid-morning to mid-afternoon) making crafts for the annual Christmas Bazaar. All the help we can get is most welcome, so bring your lunch and enjoy some company as we make our crafts and needlework. If you enjoy doing needlework at home, please let Marcie Heath know and we will get materials to you.
The Brotherhood of St. Peters organizes times for fellowship and opportunities for service for the men of our parish. The Brotherhood makes an important contribution to our community by taking on projects around the church that we might not otherwise have the funds to address. We welcome input from all the men of our community and are looking for more ways to address the spiritual needs of men, including retreats and group meetings.
Once a year, usually in September or October, our whole community gathers for a picnic following the 10 oclock worship service. We meet in one of the many beautiful parks that Redwood City has to offer. This is an opportunity for all members of our parish, young and old, to enjoy time together in this beautiful area we call our home.
The parish choir, under the direction of Randy Terry, Minister of Music and Organist, is a non-auditioned group of people who love to sing and desire to make ministry in music part of their stewardship at St. Peter9s. We welcome all. Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. and 1st and 3rd Sundays at 5:00 p.m. in the Choir Room/Upstairs Lounge. We sing during the 10 a.m. service immediately after rehearsal. We are happy to share this ministry with our wonderful Fijian Singers. Join us for our 9 a.m. rehearsal any time. Walk-ins are always welcome!
A music program for children has been organized and implemented by Peter Hutchinson. Young people gather in the upstairs classroom at 9:45 a.m. for music and then go to their Sunday school classes for the day9s lesson. The young singers participate regularly on family Sundays and on special occasions. It is a great program! Parents, if you have children in this age group, please bring them!
